Leo Park is based in Stockholm, Sweden. Informed by both classical art and contemporary culture, his figurative paintings mix visual idioms from various places and time periods. He often works with motifs and themes with a long history and a wide range of connotations, such as the nude in nature, and people by the sea. Lately, with tattoos inscribed on his figures, he seeks to amplify tension between language and painting in his work.
After receiving his MFA (2019) he started organizing and exhibiting his works in group shows in Stockholm. After his sold out debut solo show in 2021 at Gallery Steinsland Berliner, he has steered his focus outside of Sweden. He has since been engaged in international collaborations, shows and commissions. In 2022 he had his first New York solo show at GrGallery in Manhattan, as well as his German solo debut at Berlin Art Week at Alexander Duve Gallery.
