J.Cook is here to place his nightmare tinted specs over your peepers. A palette of sketchy lines, plains of darkness and whispers of colour are used with elegance and confidence to create a surreal body of insalubrious figures and landscapes. The depth of emotion is easy to swallow thanks to a playful use composition; but there’s something about the bulging features and oracular scenes that will skulk about the shadows of your imagination for longer that you might feel okay with. While you might have come to expect a certain level of gawky experimentation from young artists, J.Cook has an incredibly mature ability to own the varying textures upon which he works.
