Born in Osaka Japan in 1975, Motonori Uwasu graduated in Fine Art from Osaka University of Arts in 1999.
He lives in Higashiosaka, Japan, with his wife and seven cats. Higashiosaka is a suburban town with many factories, including many around his home and studio. He paints with themes of landscape and memory, and the landscape of his neighbourhood underlies his work.
