'Still Closer...' By Anne Moses

Anne Moses is a British artist living and working in the UK. Since leaving university with B.A Honours Degree in Fine Art in 1975 she has been developing and producing work continuously. Her main area of interest has always been the human face and form, encompassing universal recognition of emotion and sensuality seen up close with highly detailed observation. Up until 2015 she supported her studio practice lecturing in Art & Design managing and delivering a successful Art & Design Access to Higher Education Course which enabled many disadvantaged adults to return into mainstream education and gain entry into universities across the UK.

After spending many years working in relative isolation, honing her skills and vision as a painter she decided (although quite late!), to take the arduous leap into an unknown gallery world. Gaining exposure has been quite a solitary journey… promoting her work has involved carrying large paintings on trains across the UK and Europe to show possible galleries and collectors alongside the more insular internet promotion.

She has exhibited nationally and internationally with work in private collections across the world. She has many awards including the Women In Art Prize 2024 and a finalist for the UK New Artist Award in association with Saatchi in 2023.

Anne is now represented with the Moosey Gallery in Norwich and the Stephensons Gallery in York.
