Jared mine's pop culture with the goal of filtering it through the act of painting. Every mark leads to a discovery. While borrowing images from the storeroom of flickering cartoons, the process seeks to present a personal visual language. His surfaces are primed with images of characters and everything that occurs after is a response to that initial act. He merges this imagery with his exploration of layered painting techniques to broaden the possibilities of images, that would otherwise be considered silly and insignificant.
